Ohh hello there!
So.. I have decided what the first Barry M Madness Review will be.
It is this Textured Glitter Nail Paint in Countess from the Royal Collection which has the honor!
Firstly, I picked up this nail varnish last week in superdrugs 3 for 2 promotion! I has already picked up two things and though lets go and look at the Barry M section to see if they have anything new as an add of to my collection.
I knew they had brought out this range and I am pretty sure that it is the Matte range which is their most recent collection to come out. However, I have seen swatches of these new textured varnishes and thought they looked just loverly for Autumn/Winter.
So I've worn it for about a week now :) so lets get on with it!
All in all there are 5 Nail Paints as part of this collection, priced at £3.99, the colours range from a very pearly white colour, all the way up to this beautiful deep purple bordering on burgundy.
They also brought out a collection similar to this in the summer of this year which consisted of 4 pastel colours which went well with this years summer trends!
However I did not like the summer collection as much as I like these!
The nail varnishes are what they say they are, very textured and very glittery! I love the feel of the nail varnish when you run your finger across it (weird?... maybe!), its nice to have something different in my opinion and Barry M are always at the forefront of new ideas for unusual ways of painting your nails!
Application
When applying, this product is an absolute dream! If applying thickly i think you could get away with one coat however I needed two. It just slides on really easily and is a good choice for those times when you are in rush and you just want to get something on your nails which is quick and you know you can rely on not to make you late!
Durability
I think the textured effect helps the wear of the varnish to last longer, so it was a good 3 days before my nails chipped, you might be thinking only 3 days! but I didn't use a top coat or base coat which I know is very naughty but I was just so excited to see what it would look like that i couldn't be doing with the extra steps!
Effect
I find myself putting the effect the nail varnish has, as my most important factor, if i like the effect it gives it doesn't matter to me that it only lasts a couple of days. This nail varnish is lovely on the nails and the glittery particles within it catch off the light beautifully and I have had a few nice compliments about it in the few days I have worn it!
Price
As always Barry M across the board is a very affordable brand, this nail varnish retails for £3.99, which sits in the middle of the price range for their nail varnishes! I think this is an amazing price for such an amazing and durable product.
I will definately be buying more from this collection I would be interested to see how the lighter colours will look.
